Why can’t they just embrace it? Maybe people will finally stop thinking of it as the birthplace of Hitler.
Bruno and Matt Lauer shared an emotional moment on this morning's
Today Show.
After Lauer told Sacha Baron Cohen -- who appeared as his character, a flamboyant Austrian fashion designer -- the Austrian Minister to Great Britain has called for a boycott of the movie, Bruno broke down into tears.
"VAT?" he said in his faux-accent. "This is the first I'm hearing of this. This is a very private moment. Close up, please. That is just
so Austrian: they build you, zhen they knock you down."
As the segment faded to dark, the crying comic -- who donned a silver jumpsuit -- told Lauer: "Hug me, I feel so lonely!"
The flick hits theaters tomorrow.
