Well we may have our first real explanation as to why
John Mayer thought he was too good to date
Jennifer Aniston. He was high. According to reports, however, he may have come down from the clouds long enough to see that J-Aniston is a bigger catch than he should ever be able to get. Mayer fights hard to stay edgy enough to keep us from falling asleep by declaring “Who says I can’t get stoned?” in his new song “Who Says.” While this will most likely ruffle a few parental feathers, Mayer takes it all in stride… which I guess is pretty easy to do after sparkin’ up a fatty.
"It's not a dirty word. It's not a curse word," Mayer tells PopEater of the first single from his upcoming album, 'Battle Studies.' "It's a presentation of an idea that makes people think a little harder about what they're listening to, which I don't think is the worst thing in the world."
Uhhh… ok
Mayer goes on to say that he doesn’t believe that he’s exploiting the word and that the song speaks for itself. But, Mayer concedes that not everyone is going to get the gist of the song. Maybe after hitting the bong a couple times, we’ll get it.
Do you think Mayer is overstepping the lines in his new song “Who Says?”
