A sports columnist for the
New York Post credits Hudson for the outstanding performance of her boyfriend
Alex Rodriguez throughout the 2009 baseball season and now in the World Series.

Madonna and his high-profile divorce from wife Cynthia in 2008. "But he's got a good woman with him now in Kate," Wells says, calling the actress "a good luck charm" and "the perfect complement to him."
Wells praises the
Bride Wars star for being a "down-to-earth chick," and for her boisterous presence at Rodriguez's games. "She's just supportive of him, and that empowers him with an 'I don't give a damn' attitude."

Indeed, sources close to the couple (together since May) have told
Us Weekly that "Kate is changing him for the better . . . he's less of a jerk. He's also more free-sprited."

Following a 7-4 victory ("A-Rod was a hero again," Wells wrote of the game), the Yankees next play the Phillies Monday night for Game 5.
