English born Kate Winlset used her acceptance speech last night, to gush about her happiness at having the chance to receive an award at home in the UK.
The 2009 BAFTA Awards, held in Covent Garden’s Opera House, saw her accept yet another acknowledgement for her role in The Reader, scooping up Best Leading Actress. Beating fellow nominees, Angelina Jolie, Kristin Scott Thomas, Meryl Streep and (oddly) herself for Revolutionary Road.
Kate Winslet will add this award in a long line, including one SAG Award and two Golden Globes. Bet she can’t wait for the OSCARS!!
