They opened a playground for homeless kids in Los Angeles, cementing their reputation as the nicest couple in Hollywood. Maybe if we studied their DNA we could find a cure for Heidi and Spencer.

Nicole Richie and
Joel Madden spoke to a small crowd inside the Karsten Neighborhood Resource Center at a ceremony to open the Richie-Madden Children's Playground on Thursday (October 22).
The Richie-Madden facility is part of the Beyond Shelter neighborhood revitalization project in South Los Angeles, which is a 50-unit service-enriched housing complex designed to assist homeless families.
This new playground gives the children of these families a green space to play in a safe and protected environment.
Aside from her charity work, Miss Riche will be debuting a new contemporary women’s line called “Winter Kate” next Spring.
Talking about the line, Nicole tells: "It feels as though I’ve always been working on this collection, but officially I started putting it together in early 2009."
