It has been one of the more longshot cases in the entertainment world, and earlier this week a judge ruled that
Paris Hilton was not responsible to fork over $8.2 million for the failure of her film “Pledge This!”
Back in 2006, the “Simple Life” hottie starred in the film and received $1 million for her fee, but the investors claimed that she didn’t do enough to promote the movie, hence its flop at the box office.
However, US District Judge Federico Moreno called foul on the lawsuit, stating, The court finds compelling evidence in the record that 'Pledge This!' lost money because the film's inexperienced producers hastily cobbled together a wholly inadequate marketing plan.
He continued, "They sent scattershot requests to their principal star in the hopes that she could find time to promote a sinking ship."
