Actor-turned-singer Terrence Howard is to play an undercover cop who infiltrates the Black Panthers, in a new TV drama.
Set in the 60s and early 70s, Pigs and Panthers is based on the experience of real-life detective Ronald Farwell.
The drama will focus on the story of Farwell and his wife, an LA sheriff's deputy.
Howard, 40, will play the detective who soon finds himself on the wrong side of the Black Panther Party, the FBI and the LAPD.
The actor's production company, A Huge Quality Film, is developing the project.
Howard, who received an Oscar nomination for his role in Hustle and Flow, says:
"That time in our lives had a tremendous impact on our society, which can be felt even today.
We've put the right creative team in place to tell this fascinating story."
Looks like Terrence Howard bounced back from being dumped from Iron Man 2.
