The jury’s still out on Hayden Panettiere, though her first major film role in "I Love You, Beth Cooper" brought subpar returns in its opening weekend. Ms. Panettiere, star of NBC’s “Heroes,” follows many others who have tried to make the transition to film after getting their start on TV.
