Aubrey O'Day -- known for her trashtastic style -- gets a glam makeunder in the newest issue of Us Weekly.

"She was a bit afraid," Us fashion director Sasha Charnin Morrison says of the 25-year-old (whose debut movie,
American High School, is out on DVD April 7). "But she really loved the final result."
To tone down her over-the-top look, Morrison says, "we went through a step-by-step process" that involved redoing her hair, stripping down her dramatic makeup and changing her clothes.

"Something that we did to make the makeunder work was to bring in these really elegant clothes that were beautiful, and the silhouettes were really crisp," she tells Usmagazine.com.
She added that "it all kind of worked together but didn't overwhelm her and didn't upstage her."
